Adri (short for Adrienne, after her Grandmother) was born and raised in Northern Alberta where she spent a good deal of her childhood running around the boreal forest of her sprawling backyard. Some of her favourite childhood memories are moonlit cross-country skis along the trail her parents made through silver poplar trees, reading and sipping hot cocoa by the fire, muddy spring days canoeing on temporary ponds of melted snow, sandy summer lake days in the water, building castles, climbing trees, playing barefoot soccer, roasting marshmallows, and, long river-valley walks on golden autumn days followed by cookie-baking. Adri took an undergrad in Communications at Trinity Western University and went on to earn a masters of Occupational Therapy at the University of Alberta, where she was able to complete practicums in the area of early childhood intervention. After having her daughter, Daisy India, Adri’s passion within the area of early childhood education deepened. A dream was ignited to cultivate a beautiful space where children could be nurtured through wonder, imagination, and restful learning.
