Our School

Our Location

Our location is an important part of who we are. From the beginning, we dreamed of having a space surrounded by a natural milieu where our children could roam and tromp and run and climb and explore. We found this within the beautiful and central neighbourhood of Inglewood, Calgary. We call the Inglewood Community Association Hall home and we absolutely love it. Sprawling green space, a playground, a skating rink and community gardens surround our building, a beautiful wilderness park lies across a quiet street, and beyond it, the Inglewood bird Sanctuary.

Our school is located within this sweet little nook that is also an easy distance off a major route to downtown, making it accessible not only to families within Inglewood and surrounding communities, but also to those who commute downtown or nearby for work.

Here we are!

Our Nutrition

Nourished bodies make for nourished minds, hearts, and spirits. We require parents provide a clearly labeled lunch each day of their child’s attendance. We provide a morning and an afternoon snack and prepare all our snacks in “home”. On many occasions, we will have a special baking/snack prep day in which our children will be involved as part of our programming.

“Education is an atmosphere”
- Charlotte Mason

With warm woods, woven baskets, earth tones and pastels, our classroom atmosphere is embracing, soft, peaceful, and nurturing. Our single large room is divided into areas geared towards specific age groups and activities while still allowing designated time and space for multiage interaction to promote social and leadership skills among children of all ages. Our school is informed by an occupational therapy perspective and embraces children of all capabilities and capacities. Our classroom has been developed according to universal design principles for increased accessibility to all children.
